Requirements for officiant credentials in FL?

I want to bring my own officiant for my wedding in Florida, I checked the Florida clerks website and the Florida Dept of Health website and they seem to both point to the other with neither providing the answer......

The problem is that the officiant isn't from a "mainstream" religion and I didn't know if Florida had specified anywhere what requirements they have of an out of state officiant to be able to perform wedding ceremonies?

I would imagine it wouldn't be a problem with the number of online ordinations available but I didn't know if maybe somebody could point me in the correct direction?

Florida's state law is worded like this: any “regularly ordained minister of the gospel or elders in communion with some church, or other ordained clergy” may perform the marriage, along with all Florida judicial officers, including retired judicial officers, clerks of the circuit courts, and notaries public. The state also recognizes Quaker officiants and marriages.

Anyone who falls under these guidelines may perform the ceremony without filling out any special paperwork, except to sign the marriage license at the time of the ceremony.

If you're worried that your officiant won't be considered to have been ordained by a church, you can always have him/her get a Universal Life Church ordination online.

Do you know if you become ordained on the internet if you have to submit your certificate to the state of florida? i've looked online but can't find a definite answer!

Nope, no need to submit anything to anyone. Florida seems to be pretty relaxed about this stuff. At most, Disney might ask to see the ordination, I suppose, but I've never heard of that happening.
