Required time lapse between using DxDDP credits?

OK, I wasn't exactly sure how to title what I'm trying to ask, so forgive me!

We will be on the DxDDP for our trip (me and the two kids who are 7 and 9). My 9 year old will have to get kids meals which for the most part will be OK. But at QS I was wondering if I could use one of my credits for her. I know I can't get more 'adult' meals than 1 at a time since I'm the only adult. But, for QS can I go back say 10-15 minutes later and order another adult meal? I know it will leave me with one less adult credit, but I think we'll have 1 or 2 to spare anyway. Or, will it not allow that 2nd adult meal credit to be deducted so soon after another one?

For example, I go to the QS counter and get 1 adult meal and 1 kid meal. Then I go back a little later and get another adult meal. So in total they've deducted 2 adult credits and 1 kid credit (even though we have the plan for 1 adult and 2 kids).

Do they view that as 'cheating' the system? If so, I definitely won't try it! But, I figure I'm really doing them a favor by using more of my 'adult' credits at QS places anyway (verses the more expensive TS places). I'm NOT trying to order the adult meal with the kid credit either. I will use the ADULT credits for the ADULT meal. If it's frowned on or not allowed, then I completely understand. If that's the case, then maybe I'll just have to eat her kid's QS meal once or twice and let her have my 'adult' one (or order OOP since it's not that much anyway)!

Thanks,
Kim

As long as you do not use credits for which you paid a child's price to purchase adult meals, you can use the credits in different transactions as much and as often as you want. There is no "time lapse" between usage.

The thing you can't do if you have one adult and two children on your key card is purchase more than one adult and two child meals at the same time.

But you can use your adult credits, for which you paid an adult price, to purchase adult meals and then give those meals to the child, as long as you don't buy two adult meals in the same transaction.

Using your example. The OP gets one adult and 1 child meal. A few minutes later he goes back in line and gets another adult meal. His question is if the computer will kick it out as being "too soon", in other words treat both purchases as one transaction.

I don't think the system is that sophisticated. I'd say something like I'm still hungry if the CM says something.

The OP should be fine. Last fall, I used a CS credit at the Mexican cantina. I didn't like my meal, so dumped it, and went straight over to Norway and used another CS credit to get a meal I would eat. Nothing was said. I was solo and used 2 CS credits maybe 10 minutes apart.

There were several times our last trip that DD & I both got kids meals at the same time at CS.

Adults should be able to get a kids meal with an adult credit. You just can't do it the other way around.

I take it you are doing this because your DD will want more than the normal kids meal offerings? I went thru this and what I did was just swap my DD for her kids meals a few times and let her have my meal. I would think going thru a line 2 times when you have 2 fairly young kids in tow would be such a pain.

if you're sure your 9 yr. old is always going to be hungry from the kids' meals - and I could see that - the kids meals are small (that's why the kids plan is so cheap, lol) Anyway - you might want to consider upgrading your 9 yr old to a 10 yr old (a Disney "adult") A lot of people do that...it costs more, of course, but at least your child will always be able to choose the larger adult meals because you paid for them. Just a thought.

OH! I didn't know you could do that! However, it is $51 more a day to have the DxDDP for an adult. It might be cheaper to purchase an extra CS meal a day for her.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I am glad to know that I can go back and order a 2nd adult meal. However, Chloesmom is right in that would probably be a pain! But it's good to know it's an option.

I thought about upgrading her to the 'adult' plan as well, but that is a big price difference for the DxDDP. We have lots of buffets planned, so it doesn't make sense for those anyway. She feels she's too 'old' for kid's meals (and she is an adventurous eater and would prefer the adult menu). I'll just swap with her some and she can eat some of my food in addition to her kid's meal since I'm sure the adult meals will be alot for me (especially the TS ones on the DxDDP).

Also remember to think outside the box with your CS meals. My DD 7 and I mix and match our CS meal components which makes things less boring. For example I will get an adult chicken meal and she will get the kids mac & cheese and we will split the whole thing up so we each have some chicken, some mac & cheese, some veggies & fruit and split the adult dessert. I have found we get better variety and I can limit the fries and desserts better this way.
