Welcome to the DIS, Mom2four!

Disney always says that requests are just requests, and cannot be guaranteed. That being said, in all the years I've made requests, I have gotten my request every time (including my request for Tokelau at the Poly). If you just requested Samoa, your chances are pretty good you'll get what you want. The more requests you make the less likely you are to get it.

When I check in, I tell the clerk checking me in that I made the request, and ask if they can accomodate me. Most cast members will work with you so that you get what you want (or at least something you will be satisfied with).

A CM last summer told me that Samoa was the most requested building at the Polynesian. We had been assigned there but had only requested non smoking, first floor. We used to be in that longhouse quite often when our children were younger so it was fun to be back in it although it was just my DH, one son and me. It does have a great location.

However I truly think that ALL longhouses at the Polynesian have their own advantages so don't be disappointed if you don't get Samoa...find the magic where you land.

Also Samoa is not nearly as large as Tokelau.

Really, wherever you are at the Polynesian, your experience should be magical.

And welcome to the DIS!!
