My wife and I have always made special room requests (view, location, etc) when staying at WDW resorts in the past. We generally call or fax our requests 2-3 days before arrival. Is this done at DVC resorts? Do you recommend it?

Also, we just joined DVC and are making our first trip "home" next week for our 10th wedding anniversary...would like a quiet water view 1BR...any suggestions for location or room number?????

Thanks in advance

Ooops - we are staying at OKW, any suggestions for 1BR room number with water view in a quiet location (no need for golf view or being close to the pool)? Thanks again

M/M Mouse,

You definitely can make requests (they don't guarantee them though). Every trip that we take to OKW we request a specific building number and so far :) we've gotten our request.

I've always made my special requests with MS when making the reservation. You can call them and add that request to your ressie. It also couldn't hurt to contact the resort directly either.

Good luck and have a great trip!

We just got back from our first trip to OKW as DVC owners. Before I went, I had found a picture of a view online that I was using as the wallpaper on my computer because it was so nice and tranquil. I printed it out and took it with us because I thought was beautiful.

When I got to the front desk I pulled it out and kind of jokingly said "We'd like THIS view!" The CM laughed and said "I can do that." I didn't really take him seriously, tucked away the picture and headed for our room. When we got there we were quite pleased with the room and the view that we got. Our room was a one-bedroom on the third floor, #3533.

It was quite lovely. We liked sitting on the balcony, looking out over the little pond and the golf course. In fact, that was my favorite part of the trip! We talked about how glad we were that we got the room we did, because it was perfect. It wasn't the view we had shown the CM, but he had picked a great alternative.

When I got home and booted up my computer, I was amazed - it actually was the EXACT view that I had shown him, except it was on the third floor instead of the first - which we liked even better!

In the future be aware that you can make your view requests when making your reservation. You can also do what you are planning (but there is some sense that the earlier you make your request the more likely you will get it). As to suggestions as to what you should request, you need to answer a question first: At what resort are you staying?
