Requesting prayers for my son (UPDATE PAGE 7)

We really need some prayers. We were moved from Mesa Lutheran Hospital to Phoenix Children's Hospital today because my son Austin's kidneys are failing. He has been hospitalized since Wednesday night at Mesa Lutheran with a severe staph infection and it now appears that his body cannot tolerate the antibiotics that he has been given. They have stopped all antibiotics but his kidneys are only functioning at about 17% of normal, he is running a temp and his blood pressure is elevated. The good news is that the staph seems to be under control.

The plan of action for now - going on the assumption that we are dealing with antibiotic toxicity - is to stop all meds except for the IV fluid and a very mild blood pressure medicine. Right now he is looking at probably at least a week in the hospital and a long recupperation at home while his kidneys heal.

Tomorrow he will have an ultrasound of the kidneys to (hopefully) rule out anything worse than what we are already dealing with.

I'm so scared and I humbly ask for your prayers.

Sending you all pixie dust and prayers-----sister who has gone through some horrible stuff and is in a wheelchair now went through similar with staph infection and the antibiotic aversion several years ago. Her wound on her stomach which grew to an opening of about 8 inches is now the size of a dime-3 years later. Took a lot of time, because of her condition, but she did fine. Antibiotics can be scary stuff!
