Requesting a specific room. . .can I do that?

In about 6 weeks we will be arriving at the AS Sports and I have decided exactly where I want our room to be on that property! Is it even possible for me to request a specific room or will they just tell me, sorry, no can do. . .specifically, I want a 3rd floor, overlooking the Homerun Pool. Should I call the resort? When? Any advice is much appreciated

It can't hurt to ask! They say they can't guarantee anything, but I've always gotten pretty much the location I've wanted when I've requested anything in the past. Good luck

While you can ask for a specific room number, it is better to give them a general idea of where the room is so you have the best chance of getting where you want, even if it is the room a few doors down.

So building number, floor, which direction the room faces are all good requests to make. Start with the one that is the most important and go from there.

Added: It is best to call the reservations number (or your TA) to have it added to your reservation.

Staying at a resort is not like going on a cruise and pre-picking your cabin.

And to add to it, if you specify a specific room, the room assigner won't know why you want that particular room and will most likely give you the next available.

Specify requests on your reservations in the order of importance to you and be somewhat generic. That way, they can hopefully meet most of your requests; if you have more than one.

It depends on availablility. The chances that one specific room are available may be slim, if say, a family is in it for 7 days and you arrive while they are still in it. We actually requested 2 specific building numbers (granted, they are probably the most requested building numbers at this resort) during our last stay (at a very busy time) and they told me there was nothing available there when we were checking in. We could've been moved 2 days later, but that's not what we wanted to focus on. We actually ended up loving even more the location we were given.

This time I know I want a specific section, so to better my chances, I am only requesting that section, and not a specific building number. I would imagine an exact room number would be quite hard, as all variables (like people leaving on the day you're coming) would have to all line up. But, who knows? some people have better luck with things than others.
