Requesting a Site

We plan on tent camping at a Preferred site. What are the best of these, and why are they better than any others? When I go to the Disney Parks website, I don't see that you get to request any sites, but I've read that you guys frequently do request your location. How do you do this? And how in the world do you know which location is better than another? Is it all based on how close it is to certain things?

You can call and have them note a loop request in your reservation or when you check in online, you can request a loop. That is the best you can do. Depends on who is leaving, how crowded the campground is on where you may be placed. They try to get you in your requested loop but not always possible. There are videos on youtube of the loops that you can view also.

As PAHunter said, you can only request a specific loop, not a site. And it is only a request. I've had my request granted about 75% of the time. Others are less. Some luck few have got it every time.

As for which Preferred is the best? There are only 3 Preferred loops. 100, 200 and 300. 300 is a pet loop. I love Loop 100. It has a walk way at the back corner that goes right to the Settlement trading post and on to the boat dock. Loop 100 is probably the closest to the primary transportation (not internal Fort buses). That's part of why I like it. Easy walk to the boats to MK and WL or CR. Short walk to the Settlement depot where you can get all the internal buses or ones to WL and then on to the rest of WDW.

I have been assigned loop 200 once. It was ok and still fairly close to things, but it didn't feel like home.
