Requesting a mini fridge?

Does anyone know how easy or likely it is to request and get a mini fridge? For reference we are staying the Yacht Club and it sounds like all the mini fridges have been swapped out for beverage coolers. I am concerned that a few items I was planning on ordering to accomodate dietary needs for my son won't be kept cold enough to be safe to eat over the course of a week's time. Don't need the fridge to be freezing---but beverage coolers state they only cool between 40-45 degrees where as I have read online food should be kept at 35-39 degrees.

Anyone have experience either with the new beverage coolers or making a similar request? Thanks!

I have read posts from guests who requested refrigerators for medical reasons (keeping medications at proper temperature) and received them. Hopefully someone with actual experience will read this and post!

We used to order a styro cooler from GG then keep our booze cold covered in ice the whole trip. GG stopped selling them a bit ago I think. The mini fridge was always turned off or way down when arrived.

The medical fridge is small , for medicine.
From what has been reported , the old/original fridge will not fit in cabinet any more.
Plan on using a bowl of ice to get cooler down to the needed temperature.

I put bags of ice in the beverage cooler to keep it colder. We also brought a medium size cooler from home and put new ziploc bags of ice in it every day.

I take food with me because DS has issues that often keep us in the room. I've taken turkey, cheese, yogurt, milk, cream cheese ... and the beverage coolers have worked just fine for the week.

My understanding is that mini "fridges" from resorts are very small medicine fridges that wouldn't work for your food. Since Disney provides coolers in every room there is no need for them to stock mini fridges as well.

I did go once when there was no fridge in rooms (POP Century) so I ordered one from Walmart and used it. I'm not sure if any of the rental companies in the area rent mini-fridges, as most hotels provide one, but you can check.
