Request North or South wing of Contemporary?

I'm tacking on a day to our All Stars Pop Warner Cheer Nationals trip in December and treating us to one night at the Contemporary. I booked a standard wing room at $171.70, which seems like a good deal to me. Unfortunately, no specials applied to the tower rooms. When I fax my room request letter, should I request the north or the south wing? Is there any difference? Comments appreciated! I have never stayed at the Contemporary before...and I would have loved the tower MK view, but there's a big difference between $171 and $373!

I recommend requesting the North Wing. It's closer to the food court area and I believe that part of the South Wing building is smoking. (Not sure about smoking rooms in North wing.)

The North Wing is near the Food 'N Fun Center and the path to the MK. The South Wing is near the pool. If you're only there for one night, it probably doesn't matter. I would request a bay view, though.

Just called to add "North Wing" to my reservation--maybe we'll get lucky and get a fireworks view! Thanks!

right now I think the north wing is reserved for the shade of green guest - so you will probably be put in the south wing - don't worry I loved that side - much,much closer to the snack bar - food'n'fun center - there is a side door that you can take right into it.

They do put some non-shades of green guests in the north wing (since it is entirely non-smoking). I don't remember how many rooms are not for SOG but there were some. Just request the north wing and you may get it. Even better would be an upgrade to the tower and that would be my first request! I hope you have a wonderful trip. We will be in the north wing via SOG next week.

We requested the North Wing the first time we stayed at the CR (non-SOG guests) we got a great room right at the bend. The North Wing seems to be closer to everything-Food 'n Fun Center, walkway to MK, and the bus stop. The CR is now our favorite resort:D

Lookingforward, I would absolutely love to be in the tower but even though I am somewhat good with words I have absolutely no idea how I would request that without seeming...well...overzealous. I know it never hurts to try, but I think I would freeze up because it seems like a huge upgrade. How do you phrase a request like that politely? As you can tell, I sometimes have a hard time asking for things!

We have stayed in the North wing 3 times and have never had a bad room. I would request a North Wing room, non-smoking, (if that is what you want). I would mention that this would be your first stay at the CR and since it is for one night, that it would be wonderful if you could possibly get a lagoon view, knowing that you are paying for a standard.
::yes::
Then when you arrive at the resort, while you are checking in you can ask the cast member about the location of your room, if it sounds like you have been upgraded then take the room but if it doesn't then you can politely ask if there could be any way you might be able to upgrade to a lagoon view or even a tower room with a MK view. Sometimes requesting too much of an upgrade via a fax is a little too much to expect but when you get to the resort if there are rooms available, if the manager is in a magical sort of mood, you could swing a much nicer upgrade, sometimes with an small additional charge and sometimes with no charge at all.::yes::
Hope you have a wonderful stay either way. We love the CR and I hope you find it magical too.
