Request for what you *don't* want

I currently have a 9A GTY ressie for the Fantasy for Aug 2012.

I am pretty certain I don't want to be assigned the aft 9As on deck 5. Any other 9As would be fine.

Anyone have experience with adding a request not to be assigned to a deck? Or is it better to specify what deck(s) you want?

I would call DCL and let them know of your request, but that's exactly what it is...a request. They are not going to be able to guarantee the request.

With the guarantee rooms, you are guaranteed a room in that category and you may be upgraded to another category if that is available without any extra cost to you. That is the best thing about the guarantee rooms!!

I have never experienced a guaranteed cabin myself, but I used to book cruises and have dealt with this on several occasions.

Hope this helps and happy sailing to you and your family!!

With GTYs you do not have the ability to make requests about rooms you do or don't want to be assigned. If you book two rooms for your family they don't have to put you near each other.

Just curious as to why you don't want those rooms. That's exactly the room I received for my 9A GTY and I'm pretty happy with the assignment.

I am concerned about being above the night clubs on deck 4. Room reports for aft deck 5 on the Dream have noted hearing bass from the clubs at night.

I understand that a GTY means I don't select my stateroom...are you saying that I cannot add any preferences at all for when the room assignment is made?

I suppose you can ask them to put down anything you want on your reservation, including room requests, but I just don't think they'll pay much attention to it. If they're trying to fill the ship and putting you in one of those rooms helps them do that, they will.

The best think to do is call them and ask.

I'm on a GTY and will vouch for the fact that you cannot make any room requests of any kind. We're in a 10C GTY on the Magic this summer and I would rather not be in one of the Deck aft 10Cs for engine noise/vibration, but I couldn't even request that.

That said, I'm hoping the "honeymoon" notation brings us a little bit of pixie dust and an upgrade! pixiedust:

ME TOO!!!!!!! pixiedust:

Since you're sailing before me, and are also GTY in an inside stateroom, let me know if you got a pixie dust upgrade or not! I hope that putting "honeymoon" will make the pixie dust CM's feel more generous. I'm sure that probably doesn't matter, but one can hope, right?! ;)

You never know. They might figure all you need is a bed. :lmao:
