Done some Googling, most believe its minor.

Just googles it an from what latest comments are it was nothing major and the attraction is up and running again according to folks out there posting on twitter.

Glad it wasn't serious as it's my favourite ride in MK and one of the few "big" rides I can go on...I would have been devastated if it was too damaged to be running when I get there next month

That's a relief - obviously for anyone in/on the attraction but also because it is my favourite ride in the MK

We haven't been on this in years! It's always been on rehab in January! So we are looking forward to it in April next year! Glad that everything was ok and it seemed to be just a minor fire

I was watching for updates like a hawk last night too. Mine and DD's fave ride too and since IASW and the Mad Hatters Tea Party are both closed when we are there I just didn't want to think about the prospect of no SM! What a relief!

We love it too, on our last evening it was quiet so they let us stay on for a second go, we could see the fireworks from it-fantastic end to the holiday.

Reportedly it was smoke or a burning smell coming from the 'electical room'.

Ohhh I nearly fainted with fear when I read this thread's title! Thank goodness it wasn't anything major, my favourite attraction in the MK!
