Reported for Booting

Ok, the Herbie Drag Races lasted 45 minutes and then I was reported for booting someone that did not have car magic which you need to play.

So how long will it be before I get the email saying I can not play anymore?

Right now I am so upset I am not sure I even want to do vmk again more.

I would not be too worried. People have booted me from a room for no reason. You wanted to have the person leave because they had no car and they were taking a spot away from someone who does have a car. I would not worry about it, it is your room you can decide who is coming in and out of it.

That is what I usually do. I make my rooms friends only and then I don't have to worry about my friends not following my rules.

Did they already ban you or did you get a warning that you were reported. If someone told me that they were going to report me for that I would actaully laugh because Staff would never ban me or warn me for doing that. They would not have the boot button if they did not want you to use it.

2. the worst case scenario in my view is just a message from staff or a visit from one

This may not apply now but back in beta my daughter reported someone who booted her from a room for no reason. VMK replied to tell her owners can boot people from their rooms for any reason.

I have made my two game rooms into friends only. Plus I will not accept anymore friends unless the are from Dis or one of the other boards I frequent.

That's the only thing I know to do.

I don't think it was right to boot that person. You should have told them to get car magic and come back next time politely. If they did not leave, THEN you could have boot them.

Try not to be to worried. ive been booted from a by winning the game! I reported(having a good reason) the owner bc i won the prize after i waited in line and go dc several times! vmk said the owner has a right to boot anyone even after i stated this information

Don't worry, you're allowed to boot people from your room. VMK says to be nice to the room owner so they dont' boot you lol! You're totally allowed to do that. Also, have you ever tried to report someone? LOL I just get a message saying do it through the contact us feature on the site. Well that takes time and effort, and if they're just a silly rude person chances are they won't go to all that trouble. I wouldn't worry about it, lots of people say they will report and nothing ever happens.

Gosh, I think One of these days VMK will take away that report button because so many ppl take advantage, yesterday there was a Push room where everyone wanted push to come so someone used the report button to try to get push there! these ppl need to get an important message saying that its for emegencies ONLY! I think VMK should start banning the ppl who take advantage of the button, Im not trying to be cruel when I say that.

Wow, I can't believe someone would report you for that. I am certain that you will not be banned, they had better not.

I have seen a lot of ppl on VMK threaten others with reporting them for things that don't merit a report. I hope that VMK knows better. As others have said, I think that you are allowed to boot anyone from your own room for any reason. I think it will be ok.

I did have a friend banned yesterday for making a trade request to another person several times. He was banned to May 11th so it was not too bad but I did advise him to ask people first to trade. He is young so I don't think he thought he was doing anything wrong.

I always get worried when I decline repeated trade requests, I fear that the person will want to report me even though I have a right to decline a trade. I always try to let the people know that I am not trading but you never know.

I can't wait to play your game, tried to get on last night but was having technical difficulties

Duh, I did tell them to go get the car magic and come back to the game. They refused and said they would walk rather than drive for the race. I told them they had to have the car. They continued to say no so I booted.

But that's the thing. Your game, your room, your rules. I have no problem
booting someone from my game when they ignore my requests repeated.

VMK has no problem with room owners using the boot button.

Ok, that is not fair. First thing I do is write down the winners name. This way if they or I get the big DC I can find them and give them their prize. And yes, I have had to do that more than once.

If someone wins a game they deserve some type of prize not a boot.

Listen its your room. Do wat ever you like with it. One report does not have to make you feel down. one person reported me bc i was picking out ugly combinations of clothes for cute or boot colors and i didn't get banned. but if that person lied and said that you were doing something else then you should contact vmk about it .

i used to have a surivor game and i got report for booting all the time. lol the peole really get mad. I also got reported from the people waiting in line because they want to get in. I didn't get banned so you must be safe.
