Report of 4th FP from app!?

What we did was go into the app after using all 3 FP and click on "Modify my existing fp selections". Next screen we picked the date and then "change a fast pass selection" and then selected our 1st fast pass choice, picked a new one, it said something like "conflict-do you want to change this selection", clicked yes and was able to get another fast pass. Also got a 5th and 6th one same way!

Perfect! Thanks for the info! It would be nice not to have to run back to a kiosk :)

I know the guy who originally tried it has AP. Does everyone else who got it to work have AP?

Since I used my park tickets, it won't let me try for FP+ until I get new tickets. Also, I thought I had tried to get a 4th FP+ in the parks, either in March or July, but I wasn't able to. I don't remember exactly what the error was. Maybe all of my prebooked FP+ disappeared, because I had used them.

This was posted by someone in another thread:
"Sorry, but I am able to use the mobile app to book my 4th, 5th, etc. Fast Passes after using my first three. I have had no issues doing this as of recently. I just do this:

1. Use the original three Fast Passes as normal
2. Go to the app and try to schedule more Fast Passes
3. It says you have "conflicts" would you like to resolve (paraphrasing here)
4. I say yes and continue to book more Fast Passes
5. Done. More Fast Passes without going to a kiosk, etc.

All it does is replace/delete the originals ones you've already used and replaces them with the new ones you just booked. I do this all the time with no issues."

Has anyone else done this? Could anyone there now try this? It would be great to be able to book 4+ FPs for the park you're hopping to from your phone before you get there!
I tried this last week and did not have success

I'll be waiting to see if someone can book a 4th FP for a park that they aren't actually in, as LaurenT did from home. It didn't work for us. I'm really, really hoping it works AND hoping they're able to get a tier 1 ride as a 4th FP. We booked the 4th FP in the same park where we'd already used our first 3 FP - yes, using my phone.

On one if our days, the MDE app went down and everyone had to go to a kiosk in order to try to get 4th FP. After standing in line at a HS kiosk (after we'd used our 3 HS FPs ), I asked the CM to help me get a 4th FP for something at EPCOT - his answer - nope, you need to GO to EPCOT in order to do that.

I'm on the fence whether this is a glitch or not or a precursor to changes.

But if this is what the system is going to be like going forward, it changes everything. Then people would want to have early FPs, as early as possible and then try to hit the app to get more. Right now it seems most people think it's best to save the prebooked FPs for the afternoon.

Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see!

And if it is like you say it is and people act the way you think they will (and I agree) it might lead us down the road of "virtual queuing"

If this works, we have to look at it as an "unintended consequence of design" and not a designed-in "feature."

Why?

Because it requires "fooling" the system (clicking on a choice) that causes it to ignore the fact that 3 FP+ have already been used, and that the system is only "seeing" that you are simply changing the previously-booked FP into other, later times and/or attractions.

If it were a designed-in feature, or something that Disney was actually testing as the next step in FP+, the choice shown would be something to the effect of "Select additional FP+."

No judgement.
Just logic.

If you'll read that's the way Eddie did it. In fact it's the only way he did it. He said he hasn't tried it yet for FPs at the park he was in.

What did you select in the MDE app in order to book a 4th FP?

Very cool to see others being able to do this. I know not everyone can apparently and I have no idea why? Yes, I do have an annual pass and that "could" have something to do with it I suppose. And no ... I have not tried to do this in the same park on the same day.

Not sure it is pass specific as @BebopBaloo said it worked for them and they do not have an annual pass.

I see that some their Fast Passes disappear from the mobile application after they use them as well. Mine do not do this and I am on the newest version of the MDE application.

It really doesn't seem all that complicated to me.
What I see as happening is the same as if you want to change one of your existing 3 FP. The MDE app is viewing the 3 FP as the same, used or unused or expired, it doesn't matter.
When you change one of your existing FP, be it the initial 3 or the 4th you book at the kiosk, it will drop the one(s) you have scheduled and schedule new one(s).
We all just assumed it would not do that for used or expired FP.
Clearly that is not the case and MDE treats all FP the same and it simply deletes the old FP and makes new ones. Of course you don't care if it deletes a used, or expired, FP so clearly you accept the systems offer to do that and it books the new ones.
It's not that it's a publicized change but more a fact that they didn't program MDE to categorize used FP different than unused ones.
I'm normally not a proponent of the MDE app for things as it works in a wonky manner. It's very easy to accidentally change a FP, easier than on the website. But I also suspect that's why this works on the Ap and doesn't on the website.

^^^^^^ Boom!! Great post!!

You know, I just realized I did this on our last trip and didn't even pick up on it. My memory is a bit fuzzy but I seem to recall having 3 FP booked and I went to my phone and changed 1 of my FP that I had just used to something else and it worked. I assumed that it worked because I had just used the FP but it's window was still "open" and my use of the FP hadn't populated through the system yet but I bet it was this loophole instead.

In February I tried to this exact thing after using my 3 prebooked and the app did not let me. It definitely knew that my FPs had been used.

There was a loophole way back where you could do this sort of thing all day (I forget the details, you had to change the FP at a certain point in line) but Disney quickly closed it once it went public.

I tried this multiple times this week. All day, all parks, all ways....and it did not work.

We did, however, get all of our additional fast passes without using the kiosks. It's how I realized club level can be worth the extra bucks.
