Replacing trip deposit with Disney Gift Card

Here is a strange question. If I already have a $500 deposit on a WDW reservation that was put on a credit card. Could I somehow replace that deposit with a $500 Disney gift card so that it comes off my credit card and uses the Disney gift card to pay the deposit?

Not sure but could you not use the DGC for tickets or food or something else on your trip?

Have you called WDW to find out? I don't see that they can replace it since it was already charged as a deposit for the room/package, but calling them would be better to see if they can do it.

i think they will help, and especially if there is a good reason such as misplaced/found gift card or you are adding dining plan. When I added dining plan later, phone rep refunded my deposit and redid my reservation.

Appreciate the responses. I just wanted to see if I could squeeze another $20 discount on the deposit I already made. Yes, I have a frugality problem.
