Replacing current tickets for new tickets?

First post for a quick question...hi!

I bought our tickets with a disney gift card a couple months ago and recently booked our fastpasses for our trip in October. The tickets are dated and supposedly non-refundable.

I just came across discounted expedia tickets (which are also non-refundable) and I've been trying to come up with a way to "replace" our original tickets with the new ones without losing our FP reservations.

I decided to call customer service and the cast member assured me that they can refund the tickets back to the gift card and as long as the new set of tickets (from expedia), or ANY tickets, are linked to the account, we won't lose our FP reservations. I made sure she was aware that these are dated tickets. She also said it's no problem to add a second set of tickets under a person who already has assigned tickets.

Basically I'm asking do i trust the castmember?

1. Is it possible to have 2 sets of tickets assigned to the same people for the same dates in the account?
(It would be ideal to first link the new tickets to guarantee our FP reservations won't be deleted, AND THEN deal with refunding the original tix)

2. Is it true that tickets can be refunded back to a Disney gift card?

Yes to #1 and #2. Hopefully you saved your gift cards.

Just a note of caution.
As you mentioned, Disney specifically states that their tickets are nonrefundable.
And, while it is certainly POSSIBLE that (as a courtesy, and for good guest relations) certain tickets MIGHT be refundable (and that being on Disney gift cards,)
it is not a certainty that they WILL refund purchased tickets.
This is especially less likely if it is simply because a guest changed her/his mind and found a cheaper option.
It is far more likely if the guest has some sort of unavoidable obstacle that affects park plans.

So, you very well may be able to get a refund on your tickets, but it is not a given.
(Also, remember that if you cannot get a refund on purchased regular tickets, you can, in the future, use their original purchased value
toward buying NEW tickets (at the time of a future trip.)
That last remedy IS actually stated on the Disney tickets website, so that is another way to recoup funds paid in for unused/expired tickets.

Thanks for the warning :) you were right! I went ahead with everything only for the second customer service woman to tell me the first cast member spoke out of line! Crisis averted because they decided to do a one-time curteosy refund but I definitely do not recommend anyone do this unless you wanna press your luck. I wouldn't have done this for a small discount though--i ended up saving 25% which is a life saver for Canadians

Like all call centres, it depends on how nice/knowledgable the cast member is
