Replacements for Aladdin on the Wish?

I know there is already a thread about Aladdin not being ready yet on the Wish, but it's kind of devolved into more of an argument about whether there should be an expectation of shows being ready.

Setting that aside, is anyone tracking what is replacing Aladdin each sailing? I know Jodi Benson performed on the MV but I am assuming that was a one shot deal. Are they just showing movies or are they bringing in random performers? We're doing a B2B in August and trying to figure out if we want to just plan on something else for that night (like Hyperspace reservations) or if there will be something we want to see.

One night they showed the new Thor movie in the Walt Disney Theare on the MV....not sure since then.

We just got off the Wish (4 night) and the walt disney theater show schedule was:
Day 1 : Disney Seas the Adventure
Day 2 : Charles Peachock (juggler)
Day 3 : The Little Mermaid
Day 4 : The Little Mermaid (again)

I'm curious, does Set Sail On A Wish end in the Grand Hall as advertised on the DCL press release? I know this is a bit off topic, but I haven't seen anything mentioned about the show "moving on" to the Grand Hall

bravo!! i really slammed guest services on our july 25th disney wish cruise over their decision to replace aladdin with a movie.
i went to guest services 3 times about it, trying to speak with someone in authority....
I questioned why they hadn't brought in a live act as they do on other ships when they need to fill a night..
apparently they listened as on your cruise you had a juggler instead of a movie..
bravo disney for listening...

I’m on the 3 night now and it’s Seas the Adventure and the Little Mermaid on the last 2 nights.

One thing I liked on the 4 night is that Charles Peachock also did an adult show the last night in Luna.

We did get the headliner. Michelle Knight, on the July 25th cruise. I liked her mainstage show, her cabaret at 10:30 later in the week, not so much.

That didn’t happen on the MV and I haven’t heard of it happening on subsequent sailings…its yet another thing that has left the Wish not completely done…..

she's not a headliner....she was just the 4th night addition....
NOT the replacement for aladdin and not considered a headliner....
the replacement for aladdin was thor
i spoke with them at length about this

Not excusing them not having the show ready, but was it the premiere week for Thor? They sometimes do that for new Disney/Marvel movies.

thor was already more than a month old by this point..
also it was playing NONSTOP in the two movie theaters on board..
absolutely no reason for it to be shown in the walt disney theater..
also, it is totally inappropriate for families so should NEVER be shown in the family slot in the walt disney theater

Thor came out in the US on July 8, so it wasn't especially new on July 25.

But you're right, Disney often shows a movie for the evening entertainment. This isn't new and it isn't only happening on the Wish. I remember seeing Frozen 2 one evening back in 2019 when I was on the Fantasy.

Disney showed Dr Strange on Pirate Night on the Fantasy recently. It’s not that uncommon for them to have a movie one night.

this was a replacement for a show night, which shouldn't ever be a movie.
you don't pay disney prices, especially the disney wish sky high prices and get a movie as a replacement for a show that they didn't get ready in time for the ship though they had years - knowing this ship was coming.

thor was shown as the replacement for the show that isn't yet ready for the ship (aladdin).
Two strikes against it.
A movie replacing a missing show.
And a movie that small children cannot see.
So on a 4 night cruise, there was only family entertainment in the theater on 2 nights.

The two nights of Little Mermaid is annoying to me. That essentially means one night of no show unless someone really loves it and wants to see it two nights in a row. And with a b2b, that’s 4 nights of Little Mermaid. I personally feel there should be a unique show of some sort every night and if Aladdin isn’t ready there should a second performer brought onboard (and the movie option only if it’s a brand new release).

i agree with you

When we did a 3 night on the dream in March they played enchanto which had been out for months and months instead of showing believe which they showed on other 3 nights so it’s happened on other ships as well.
