Doesn't everyone do this somehow? We used to take the kid's picture sitting on Minnie's couch every trip....sadly the couch is gone with the rest of Toontown. So we decided that we'd start reenacting a moment instead. The moment of my kids GLARING at each other over who gets to steer the magic carpet. The original is in my signature. I think this photo will be hilarious when they are both adults...hope they keep it up.

Any other families doing anything like this?

We used to take a shot of dd sitting on one of the yellow chairs at Minnie's house, but not anymore. I had looked forward to being able to do that for every trip, but that isn't going to be the case anymore.
Since she is now almost 18, that sense of urgency is gone.

I think this is a great idea -- one which we'll steal from you :)

Thanks!

We have done this but not on purpose... at Animal Kingdom, at It's Tough To Be A Bug... while waiting... DS made a silly face with his bug glasses on. It was such a great picture, we repeated it last year. Will do it again this trip.

Did same with silly faces by the statues in Yak and Yeti. Also pictures every trip on the tea cups ride, with Mickey & Minnie, and a few others. In the last photobook, I made a page with pictures of us on the teacups and labeled each 2008, 2009, 2010... and there was a nice background of the tea cups on the page. I'll try to post it later. Meanwhile, here's the bug picture from 2010.

I have two series of photos of our youngest running across the bridge at AKL. We stayed at AKV last trip and I forgot to get the series of photos on that trip. :sad1:

Hopefully I will not forget on our next trip. :)

We needs something for the oldest...

I get photos of the kids each trip on Astro Orbiter, TMRR, and Primal Whirl. The youngest still rides EE but the oldest has stopped. :sad1: I have some great photos of them over the years on those rides.

One of our favorite photos is the kids looking through the round window in the door at Pooh's playground at MK. I would have loved to have taken that photo year after year but alas Pooh's place is gone. :sad1:

Later,
Dan

We do a family shot in front of the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House sign every year with the family crest on it (our last name is Robinson). It's been neat to see how much we have all changed so far and we hope to be able to continue this tradition.

This upcoming trip I am actually doing this same thing from photos from January and I'm also having my children and I recreate some photos from when I was little. We have some photos of when I was little and some from when my mom when she was 19 in 1972. We're planning on stalking out a few of these places an redoing the shots. I actually have a bunch of ones which are from EPCOT but I will have to figure out where ther are and if the places are still around. My brother and I were less than cooperative with phtos when we were younger which makes these not likely to be the best photos to recreate but I still think they'll be amusing. My favorite taht I'm looking forward to recreating is one where my mom is glaring at the two of us as we are so obviously agruing during what was supposed to be a great photo op. I have a feeling that one will get recreated organically and not need much of a set-up!! Haha.

Every trip, we take a picture of our daughter sitting on the bench next to Snow White outside the Disney Store at the Orlando airport.

That is so cute. :)

I'm pregnant now with our first son and I've been trying to think of a nice spot where we can take his photo every year. The problem, like a few people mentioned, is that things disappear!

When you walk into MGM er um Disney Hollywood studios ... there's a store in the front that sells posters and prints. They've got a statue of a big dog, a Great Dane? We always try to take a pic there of my daughter with that dog. There's a few other places that we repeat, but that's my fav.

I don't think it's really sunk in yet that when we go back, Minnie's house won't be there. It was a favorite.

We always get one on Main Street.

We made a point to try doing this after hearing Lou talk about it on WDW Radio.

You can see his spot here:

Hope our DD Brooke will keep up this tradition. It will cool to look back over 10,20 or more years!

We started this by mistake and plan to keep it up each trip. First family trip was in 2008, DS was 4 at the time. Only non-happy moment he had was when we were trying to get a shot in front of the hat at HS. DH and I decided to follow his mini-pout look and got this photo:
2008.jpg

We then re-enacted it on our trip a couple weeks ago. Excuse the crappy quality, it's a copy of a Photopass Photo as I have not recieved the CD yet:
2011.jpg

We plan to keep this up for every trip we take. Even if they take away the hat, they'll still have something else in its place, so I think we should be ok in being able to repete this shot every trip! I also get a picture of DS in jail with Zorg and with the glasses on while waiting for Mickey's Philharmagic.

YES! YES! I have done this since our 1st trip (honeymoon) in 1983! Our "must have" shots are in front of Poseidon in Italy, through the fountain in France, and with the troll/gnome statue in Norway. Have a couple shots in MK - sword in the stone, Dumbo ride, etc, but those are not as "special" to us. Wish I would have thought of a place in MK way back when, but it just didn't happen.

I make video/photo scrapbooks, so these pics through the years with the Leanne Rimes 50th anniversary song - quite special! (for us anyway.)

Every year at MVMCP, my mom and I take a picture in the sleigh outside of the Christmas shop at MK. Our first MVMCP was for my 11th birthday and I'm 25 now. Its a great series of photos.
