we are Florida Resident PAP holders.

Just to make sure I am understanding correctly, we cannot take advantage of the DDP because we already have tickets, therefore would never purchase a package vacation, right?

So we cannot purchase JUST the DDP?

Thanks for the help. I am sure the answer is posted somewhere in here. I tried searching but could not come up with anything.

This used to be true, but not anymore. If you log on to the passholder website, you can purchase the dining plan now, with your AP, without having to buy tickets. It is still a package though.

You can book through the end of the year, but the AP discounts are only available through the end of Sept -- so you are paying rack rate from then on (at least until the codes come out). :goodvibes

You can buy the DDE card as well, which could be a nice discount if you do a lot of table service meals. FWIW.

Most Fl residents by the AP And DDP. It works the best for them according to all the reading I have been doing.

But just to clarify, you have to actually be staying in a Disney hotel with the AP discount in order to qualify to purchase the DDP without purchasing a park ticket too....
You can also qualify to purchase the DDP if you are staying in a DVC room on points...without purchasing a park ticket...

You can buy the DDP as long as you're reserving a Disney-owned hotel room. It could be booked as "room only with the DDP", but it has to be booked via Disney Reservations. Before, the packages were that you had to have tickets bundled into the package, but now they have "room only" with DDP add-ons for those with APs and those who are DVC members on points.
(DVC members would book their DDP when they book points with Member Services.)

But, since you're a Florida resident with an annual pass, I think buying the Disney Dining Experience (DDE) discount (20% off) card is worth it, especially if you're going to spend over $300+ on food (AND alcohol at table service mostly.) There are a few exceptions like Rose and Crown pub where you can get the discount on a beer, but 18% tip is automatically added.

I think it's a better deal to get the DDE, because you're not limited to entrées and desserts only. You get the discount on the full table service menu. You can go to any ticket location (or Guest Relations) in the parks or Downtown Disney to purchase your DDE card. Just show your AP and they'll sell it to you.

I'll second or third the DDE. As Florida residents, and PAP holders, I'm kind of surprised you don't already have one!
