Repeat cruising question (same ports?)

So my family just got off the Fantasy yesterday. Our first cruise (of any kind) could not have been more magical or perfect. The western stops were stellar, fitting our personalities and interests across the board. We put a placeholder down with the goal of cruising again in summer 2018 for our daughter's 11th birthday.
When deciding on our excursions, we had a really rough time... there were so many we wanted to do! We are fairly active, and also history buffs... And are leaning toward a repeat 7-day Western. Kiddo will be a little older so we can take on some excursions that we avoided with her small size.
Does it seem nuts to do the same cruise twice in a row, especially when we don't go often? I know those of you who cruise very frequently will overlap.. we will never cruise more than every couple of years, but just feel like there is still too much to do in these ports. We had a total blast.

Not crazy at all. If you enjoyed the ports and still feel like you have stuff to see - go for it.

Not crazy at all. Especially with nearly 2 years in between. We did the same route to Alaska, on the same cruise line (HAL) but different ship 10 years apart.

Not crazy. We have done a number of ports repeatedly, if it is a port we like we find some different activities or there are some shops or other points of interest we like and we just revisit. A lot of time we cruise mainly to be on the ship and to get away so we have also done cruises were we didn't leave the ship. Castaway Cay is the only stop we always get off at.

If you loved it, go back. Vacations are meant to be enjoyed.

Nope! If you enjoyed where you went, why not go back and enjoy it more? You really don't get a lot of time at any of the ports.

I am actually doing the exact cruise this summer that we did last summer. To me cruising isn't about the ports. As long as I'm somewhere warm, I'm happy. We choose our cruise based on the timing that works for us and pricing. We were actually booked the same week this year as last too, however we just had to change that to 2 weeks earlier due to DS's school.

I agree with all of the above. We love the Western Carib ports and have done them 5 times (with a little variation here and there). If there is more you want to see, go for it. The other plus (for me) is that sailing on the Western cruises seems to be much more calm (as in seas) than the Eastern.

If we go to a port we've been to before and feel we've done it, we don't bother to get off. If we like the port and there's something else to do, or we want to repeat what we've done, we'll book an excursion. That's the best part of a cruise - you can do as much or as little as you want in port or at sea. If the timing and itinerary or ship appeal to you, it doesn't matter if you've done it before, no two cruises are exactly alike even if it goes to the same ports.

Thanks y'all! It's hard not to think we need to "get more countries" but goodness, there's so many experiences we want to do on the Western. Wish we could go a couple of times a year LOL! Y'all make me feel not as crazy.

Not one bit crazy. I cruise for the cruise ship, not the ports. I'm just as happy if every port gets canceled.

Go for it! We have been to most ports and rarely get off. I love to treat the ship as a floating resort.
