If information is better left unshared, it isa good idea to keep it to yourself and not allude to it at all.

Don't you think that is the wisest course of action?

I think that someone can share an impression and not the exact details of a circumstance, and the reader can accept it or reject it, but what I find MOST annoying, is the constant alluding to "other people" in a post. It isn't quite gossip but its rude. If someone has something to say to me directly, than say it.

It was just a dumb thing to say. It adds nothing to the debate and is counterproductive to getting the fence sitters on his side.

Any reasonable person who hears such a thing sees the folly in in.


If someone wants to debate the war on its merits, that is a fair argument. If someone wants to personally attack the President, that shows as much class as a gutter rat with a gold tooth.

And just in case those politicians who want to compare the war to s-chip, let them be reminded that the Constitution tasks the federal government with national defense. Nowhere does it authorize the federal government to provide health care for all. Granted, you can make the argument that the war in Iraq has nothing to do with national defense, but it in no way should be tied to s-chip.

There might not be a constitutional tie, but most Americans are aware that 800 Billion to 1 Trillion dollars have been wasted on this war.

Most Americans would rather have utilized this money for defecit reduction, expanded V-Chip (or better still universal healthcare) or a dozen other more productive things than Bush's folly.

There is a tie between these two items..... money wasted & money no longer available.

Just giving examples as how alluding to "information the rest of us cannot know" looks disingenous at best.

What Monica and Bill did didn't end up in the attempt to change to the Constitution in order to try to remove laws to protect US citizens. What Monica and Bill did didn't end up removing basic civil liberties with respect to one's own privacy. What Monica and Bill did didn't end up in the deaths of thousands of US soldiers and thousands more innocent men, women, and children.

If whatever said DIS'er did indeed have secret and sensitive information that cannot be posted on an internet board due to the secret and sensitive nature, then who ever is sharing said secret and sensitive nature is breaking major laws by sharing it with said DISer and should be court marshalled.

I would say that we have had ONE through EIGHT....certainly at the time we went into Iraq. I would say that the media has done a good job undermining #7 and #8.

I did not read all of the pages, just got too long. So forgive me is this was already stated.

Why is it when someone says the President is a moron and that the way is unjustified (which it is in my opinion) that person is bashing the troops?

That really bothers me, We have been lied to from the beginning about why this war has started and at some point, our president decided we had won....but we didn't.

Now thousands have died and almost every day more of our troops die and for what. Our Freedom, you have Saddam, but you can't find Osama, maybe because you are in the wrong place.......don't think they thought of that beforehand.

They also now have recruiters at the malls trying to get people to join because they are running out of bodies to send over there.

Do you know what I heard them promise one gentleman. You'll get to travel all over the world and see things you never thought you could. Oh and don't worry we'll pay for everything.

Yeah we'll send you right over to Iraq just as soon as we can, then when you get hurt and lose a limb or 2 you can come home and live a regular normal life.

The American people are fed up, whether you be Democrat or Republican, this has to stop we have bigger issues that need attending too in this country.

Agreed, Powell is a Republican I could have voted for. It made sense that he wasn't successful in the Bush administration: he was too intelligent and too wise a leader.

I think of corporate America - as much as the heads of Enron are lying theiving coniving pieces of trash - most of the lower level folks were decent hard working folks, sometimes more harmed than most consumers were. I don't hate all the lower level folks at Enron, but I certainly have hateful feelings of the leaders.


Saying that one cannot be angry with the President and how he has handled Iraq without disrespecting the troops is hogwash. That is saying one can never speak out against any war any action without harming the troops ---- that is disrespectful to the Constitution and what the primary prinnciples this country was founded on.

There has been NO ATTEMPT to change the Constitution first of all. Bill lied and subborned perjury to deny a private citizen her day in court. That is certainly limiting the Constitutional rights of that particular individual (Paula Jones). He was disbarred, so that is affirmation of what he did.
