Hi can anyone tell us there experences of renting scooters from disney. Also read were you can rent from a local comany who deliverys and picks up scooter from disney hotel. We have a sr. going with us and any information would be appreative.
Thanks

It is actually quite simple. You just put down a deposit of $40 for the day and at the end when you turn in the key you get $10. back. We prefer to do it in the parks as transportation seems easier without lugging them form park to park.

Try posting on the Disabilities section, or even on the Theme Park section. Good luck on getting your senior to rent one--my 81yo mother is really resisting, but I know she'd be able to do so much more and be rested enough to actually enjoy what she's doing if she didn't have to do all the walking.

I second the idea of posting onthe disabilities board. Everyone there was very helpful when we were going a few years back after my mothers knee surgury. We rented from Walker Mobility and had no problems-- she even done it for every trip since. Her knee would have never held up with all of the walking. It is also nice to have it at the resorts. Remember if you decide to rent at the parks, you are not gaurenteed a scooter-- it's first come first serve and they often run out.

My mom has used both Disney and from Walker Mobility. She normally rents from WM. They deliver the scooter to the hotel and pick it up. She had a problem one time with a scooter, and they came to EPCOT and delivered another one. She said they were easier to use, went a bit faster, more comfortable, and cheaper for longer stays. We extended our stay once, and she had to rent from Disney. She hated it. Said it was slow, expensive, and wouldn't do it again.

Check with Walker and see what kind of rate you can get.

My mother also much prefers the scooters from Walkers over the ones at the Disney resorts. The Walkers scooters are easier to maneuver because they have three wheels instead of four and they go slightly faster, making it easier to keep up with the walking folks in the group. We've always had great service from Walkers.

My granddpa went and was okay with disney ones. He is 62 and has heart probs. He loved the disney ones. It was quick for us and we showed up at the parks about 11 o clock and they still had asbout 20. Probably during peak times they run out.
