Does anyone know if there are any RV Rental places or people who rent RV's in the WDW area? My parents are thinking of renting an RV when they arrive in Florida to take to Fort Wilderness.

The best deal is to rent the Travel Trailer, if they don't need a vehicle. These folks will deliver the TT and set it up for you after you check into FW. Since you don't need something that can be driven, the price is less. The best part is that they have some that are HUGE with lots of amenities. It's a better deal than a moderate!

The best place I know to rent in Orlando is El Monte RV.

Their website is elmonterv.com.

They rent Class A's and Class C's.

I recommend you stay at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Campground. I've stayed there before and it was a great time.

You are at the park in the campground. Very cool. :wizard:

Take a look at Tina's website. Camp At The Fort. She is a member here on the forum, and several other members have rented from her, and given her high marks. They will bring the 5th wheel to FW for you. You make your own reservation, as you would if you were bringing your own RV. They will hook up all your gray/black and fresh water. It's set up and ready to go for your parents. The unit is totally furnished with linens, towels, and cookware. You won't get that from the national chains. All you need to bring is yourselves. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

We rented a class c from here in central NJ and drove it to disney but that was when gas was a lot cheaper and they offered a Fla special so we didn't get charged for extra miles but that was about 10 years ago and as mentioned it was up to us to bring andhook up everything the idea of some one bringing it there for you and setting it up along with the fact of that it has everything inside sounds great for someone wanting to experience the fort but doesn't have the equiptment themselves wish i knew of this back when we rented years ago now i have had 2 different TT 's since and wouldn't go to disney any other way good luck with it and who knows maybe you will be inspired to do more camping after this

We are from NY and plan on using Tina's Camp At The Fort 5th Wheel. My husband doesn't have the time we'd like.. or frankly the desire to tow our travel trailer form Long Island to Florida. Add to that the price of the gas now..and it's really a no-brainer, that it's better to rent this. It's a good solution, he doesn't have to tow, and I get to stay in FW. We've rented the cabins many years ago, but prefer the regular camping loops as they are closer to the camp ground amenities. This idea seemed like the ideal solution. I have a feeling with gas prices being what they are, we are going to see more and more of this.

Yeah gas prices aren't good but it a shame to have a camper sitting in your own yard and rent one
There is something about staying in your own bed, sheets, pillows and all the other things that are yours yeah the cost maybe cheaper but we are still going to bring our TT from central NJ our biggest reason is we have 2 dogs if we have to board them the money we save on gas by renting and flying will if not all be absorbted we will be in disney for 15 nights to board 2 dogs for aproximately 17 days is pretty expensive so we are just hoping gas doesn't get any worst then it is now and we are biting the bullet and driving :car:

Well, at this point ours is on a seasonal site in upstate NY, near Saratoga Springs. It's there from May 1st to October 15th. This is our third..no fourth year seasonal. We found that we used it more when we placed it on site. Was spending too much time sitting at the end of the drive. Towing on and off of Long Island is a nightmare, and it wasn't worth it for weekend trips. We found ourselves not using it unless it was for a week or more. With my huband not being able to get away as much as we'd like...going seasonal was a good way for us to be able to shoot upstate on a Friday evening..and return Sunday night. No towing or setting up. Not to mention I've spent plenty of time with the kids there on our own. At this point, I'm glad it's paid for..and we aren't making a payment, in addition to worrying about gas prices. We were looking to upgrade to a newer unit last year. Now..I'm glad we didn't.

I still can't believe she's still at $135 a day. It cost me that and more for round trip. She has to go twice to get the thing and all. I'd raise my price.

I was reading something recently that said that while RV sales were down..rentals were up. Seems that given the gas prices she may really be onto something.

I think she has a great idea but the rental would just have to be long term to make anything. She pulls it down and has to go retrieve it and that's 2 tanks each way from here. It would also help if there was another renter waiting there to have it.

Our friends rented Tina's 5th wheel during Spring Break and it was great! They had everything in there already and when I say everything I mean everything. It was wonderful!

I am thinking of changing my minimum stay from 3 nights to 5 nights. I really hate to but with the gas prices it is a necessity. This is my last resort before raising prices!
