Renting Points?

We are thinking of renting points for the first time. We are DVC owners, just don't have enough points to do Florida and Hawaii next year, even with borrowing. Are there any places that match you up with someone who is willing to "sell" you their points - in other words transfer their points into your account in return for the payment? Or is renting points the only way to go? Just a little apprehensive about the reservation not being completely in my control.

Our DVC Rent/Trade board allows point transfers. But remember, you can not post a new thread with your request. You have to reply into an existing Points for Rent/Points for Transfer thread.

The Timeshare Store does points transfers but I haven't looked into it for quite some time. IIRC, you had to take the full compliment of points being offered for transfer. So, if you need 250 points and they have 300 for transfer, you still would have to pay for all 300 points.

Just an FYI, members are prohibited (per the Home Resort Rules & Regulations) from receiving compensation for a point transfer. If MS finds out funds are changing hands, they can refuse to transfer the points.

Really? I just did my first points transfer and straight up told MS it was going towards funding my trip in september. Oops
