Renting Points

So I am a DVC Owner and have rented points in the past from other members using the Disboards. I am interested in renting again to get a ressie 11 months out at *** & *** and I noticed you can no longer post "RENT/TRANSFER WANTED". Is this correct? You used to be able to state what you were looking for & other members would respond. Has anyone had any luck on any other site?

You need to review the threads on the R/T Board and find someone to rent to you. You cannot post a points wanted thread anymore.

Why have the rules change on the Rental section? It seems that David's Vacation Club Rentals is benefiting with the new rules.

You may post your travel dates and desired resort/room by replying into an existing Points for Rent thread. Freestanding Reservation Wanted and Point Transfer Wanted threads have not been permitted since February.

In other words, you must now initiate contact with the member, rather than waiting for the member to come to you.

The new rules were posted for discussion on the active DVC Boards a year ago, in November 2010, and those threads were open for questions and comments until the new rules went into effect in February 2011.

thanks for clarifying. I am not a fan of this. Now it will take a lot longer to find what you are looking for. And now you have a second job of checking the dis every hour to see if there are any new posting. Ugh
