Renting Points from DVC Members?

Hi all,
Has anyone rented points from a DVC member for lodging? I have been seeing this around the sites and it sounds like it may be ok (except for the weekly maid service). I would like a one bedroom villa at the Wilderness Lodge for this coming May 8-13 (Sun-Thur). Everyone has been so helpful that I would like to hear any thoughts or comments from anyone.

There is a DVC board that is specifically designated for these types of questions. Look at the home page of this website and click on the DVC link. You will find all kinds of answers to your questions.

I have been both a renter points and have rented points to others (not looking to rent now). It is a great way to get a DVC room at a low price.

Look for someone who has a lot of DVC experience. Do a search of their past posts, read them and get to know the person. Read about DVC first so you know the rules going in, ask for a written agreement with the person you are renting from and talk to the person on the phone. If you have a good feel for the person, rent the points. There are very few stories of bad rentals on these boards.
