My 2 sisters, my husband and I are renting points to stay in a studio room at OKW in September for 7 nights. Here come the questions. (I'm sure I will think of more before my trip!) By the way, the search function is off right now and I haven't been able to find the answers to these questions yet.

It is my understanding that if you are using DVC points that you do not have daily maid service. How often do you have maid service?

What do you do for clean towels? Can you just get some from the front desk or another area?

When maid service does come do you get more paper plates, bowls, etc.?

Do you have room key charging privileges? (I really do hope so because this makes it so much easier for me.)

How much are the massages? ;)

Do they use the same transportation as the other WDW resorts - ASMo, POR, etc.?

DOES THIS MEAN THAT WE WILL BE CLOSER ON THE BUS STOPS AT THE PARKS????? (Please, please be YES!) :teeth:

Thank you for your help.

You will get what they call "Trash & Towel" on the 4th day of your stay. They will empty the trash, leave new towels, and replace the coffee pack, bathroom soap/shampoo and paper goods. (You can always get paper towels, toilet paper and dishwashing soap as needed.)

What do you do for clean towels? Can you just get some from the front desk or another area?

The washer/dryers located by the pools are free to use. You do have to pay for or bring your own detergent. You can also pay $6 to get a complete set of towels (4 handtowels, washcloth, face towels and a bath mat). Sometimes a maid will give additional towels but that is "under the table".

When maid service does come do you get more paper plates, bowls, etc.?

See above. If you feel you will be making a lot of use of the paper plates & bowls, I'd buy/bring extras. Your unit might only have 2 coffee mugs. You can ask for more.

Do you have room key charging privileges? (I really do hope so because this makes it so much easier for me.)

Yes, you can arrange this. Your pass could also be on your room key if you like.

How much are the massages?

Haven't had one, yet. ;)

Do they use the same transportation as the other WDW resorts - ASMo, POR, etc.?

Yes, transportation is by bus. There is also the Trumbo Ferry that runs to DD.

DOES THIS MEAN THAT WE WILL BE CLOSER ON THE BUS STOPS AT THE PARKS????? (Please, please be YES!) Maybe. ;) Disney seems to move the stops around. It's great when OKW is in slot #1. :)

Have a wonderful trip and keep asking any questions that come to mind.

Thanks Pam!

Does this mean that you don't get all of these unless you pay the fee for them? Sorry to have so many questions, but I am used to staying at the All Star Movies. How many towels, washcloths, etc. do you get when you check in?

Do they leave extra toilet paper in your room? I know with 4 adults that 1 or 2 rolls will not do us for 4 days. It just might be a little embarrassing going to the front desk asking for more toilet paper.

Again, thanks for your help!

In a studio, you will get four bath towels, four face cloths and four hand towels. Plus one tub mat. You get the same in a one bedroom unit. You get one full roll on the roller, plus one extra roll under the sink.

You will feel cramped in the studio, but plan on bringing along laundry detergent so you can wash towels at the pool daily if you like. We prefer not having the maids come in every day. It feels more like our home, and we don't feel we have to "put things away" for a maid coming in.

Thanks for the replies. We always bring along laundry detergent because my husband only has a few pair of shorts that are comfortable enough for him to wear all day in the parks. I don't think we will feel too crowded since we will only be in the room to sleep and shower. It will not be as bad as it was going to be in the All Stars for the 4 of us. I just wish we could have gotten the 1 BR. But it was twice the points and we didn't know how comfortable the pullout would be.

Just to be sure we're straight. When you check into the room you get towels. For $6 you would get another complete set of towels. This policy was instituted because some people were using excessive amounts of towels. Since DVC members have to pay for the laundering, housekeeping's time to deliver, etc. etc. they put in policies that would allow them to say no to excessive requests.

If you were all comfortable in an All-Star room, you'll be fine in the studio. You do get the bathroom sink and another sink in the kitchenette area. FYI -- ice machines are located at the bus stops.

Now, can anyone give a "massage review" for chellnjr?
