Renting points for BLT...........

How hard is it to rent points for a BLT studio during Jersey Week ? I'm looking at a mother/daughter trip for 2018 so I would try for it through David's at 11 months out. Is that booking really difficult?

Can not speak for a specific resort and when it is gone... But I can tell you there is not a DVC room available that week about 3 months before it for the past few years. I would start talking to David NOW so he can find a BLT owner... You will likely not be in the cheapest category expect the lake view points and be very happy if you get standard.

It needs to be booked at 11 months, and as pp stated - be prepared to pay for lake view. It will be more expensive than standard, but there are many more lakeview studios than standard view studios, so you stand a better chance of booking one

Agreed. Standard Studios disappear quick for everything in October and November. I think Jersey Week also contains the Wine & Dine Half, for which BLT is a popular booking.

I would also add if Davids has nothing for you and asks if you want to have them keeping working it and hold on to your deposit do so!! I got a Poly studio that way..and waited about 1 month for them to find one.

I got lucky using DVC Rental Store last year. I started the process at 12 months out so they could have some time to find line up the owner. We booked BLT tower for 1st week of Oct 2016.

It depends on owners. David or the other place can tell you anything at all. But if they don't have a BLT owner who wants to rent out their points at 11 months out, you won't get what you want at eleven months out. It's not so much as them lining out an owner at BLT, it's that an owner at BLT contacts them with points to rent out.

BLT is a hard sell. We lucked out and got two standard view studios from DVC Rental Store 7 months out but that was for Feb. 2017 so not the "high" season for DVC. It was crazy luck as we actually had a match to a renter within five hours of submitting our deposit.

That being said, I was shocked there were actually two standard studios avaliable as they go extremely fast as previous posters have stated. I agree with the statement above that you should be prepared to pay for lake view, and be happy if you get standard. Don't be surprised if it's booked solid at anything less than 11 months to the day, especially that week.

Well, at 7 months they may have been booked with Saratoga points. Helps quite a bit to be out of home resort,

That's true - I was honestly just mostly shocked at 7 months I was able to get two standard studios for a Sun-Fri rental at BLT in general outside of 11 months.
