Renting points for a split stay to "try out" DVC? AKV and BW/BCV

We bought DVC (WLV) after our 1st stay and never looked back.

Don't stay in the 1BR just yet. Enjoy the studios for a while before you do the 1br. It is hard to go back but this is why I love DVC I can splurge in a room I would never pay for... or budget in a studio. If you do change rooms do the studio 1st.

I love split stays. Another reason I love Dvc so easy to change. Resorts are so different it feels like a different vacation which just seeems longer than it is.

I would do AKV 1st then BWV. I would avoid BCV while your kids are so young. BCV pool area is so spread out it is not relaxing at all to keep an eye on kids running across bridges. Lazy river is deep so that is another worry.

Happy planning. We have owned DVC since 2006 and we are now for the 1st time going to DL and Aulani. We lucked out at 7 months. So far I have always been able to book any resort. Of course I am on phone online 1st thing at 7 months.

I think your research looks great.
I would do a 3/4 split and stay at AKV first. I would go to the MK first with the little ones, AK next and my full day off would be while at AKV.
If you are thinking of buying at BWV that is where I would stay.
I think a studio, 1 BR split is a good idea as it will give you an idea of what your future choices are and it may actually influence the number of points you purchase.
I would do the studio first followed by the 1 BR at BWV

This nice thing about having the 1 BR during the second half would be the ability to do laundry inside your room, as opposed to going to one of the laundry centers in your resort.

Of course, staying in a 1 BR will spoil you. Sometimes it's better to never experience the good life, b/c then you don't miss it later.

For example, that free upgrade I got to first class 10 years ago has cost me greatly. I've probably paid to upgrade myself on about 50% of my flights since then.
