Renting points....can someone help?

I have a trip planned for my family this fall. There will be seven of us total. (4 adults , 3 children)We have two rooms booked at POR but ideally would like to be a DVC. I then thought that maybe I should rent points. I have never rented points before and have a ton of questions. Can anyone help point me in the direction of where to look for this information? I need to know how many points I would need etc. Also, are you able to get the dining plan? Magical express? I am new to the renting points world and any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

You can take a look at the DVC Rent/Trade Board and reply in any thread where an owner is offering to make reservations for others (usually something like 'Points for Rent' or 'Reservation for Rent'). Since you are already within 7 months for dates thru mid November right now any member can assist with a reservation at any DVC resort. If your trip is later than November 16, you would need to find a member who owns at the specific resort you wish to reserve. Since fall is when the Food & Wine program is going on, availability at some resorts may already be difficult to find.

You should review the **How to use this Board ...** thread near the top for some helpful information about the rental process.

You can also try using www.DVCrequest.com - a DIS advertiser - who will find a DVC member for your dates and take care of everything for you.

DVC reservations can have the Dining Plan added as well as Magical Express. The member will assist with that too.

One of the first things you need to know is how is your group going to fit into a two bedroom villa (with seven you would need at least a two bedroom or two studios or two one bedroom villas). You'll need to know what you want to reserve.

Another thing is when in the fall are you planning on going. October through the middle of January could be hard to get, especially if you want a week or more at a time in one location. Which resort are you interested in? Some may have no availability at all for the time you are looking at, so you might need to consider other resorts. And those might not meet your needs as well as POR.

Oh, and if you get unsolicited responses of offer of points to this message, you need to inform the webmasters and moderators. Some people are out to scam others who are just looking for a nice trip.
