Renting Points and Pool Hopping

We are renting points at OKW for the first time and a friend told us that DVC members can pool hop. I had no idea about this and I thought that this would be the best place to ask. Please no flames I know that pool hopping is a big topic, I just didn't know if I was something allowed with DVC members or renters. Thank you.

Sorry to be your first reply starting off with, I'm not positive but...."

I believe pool hopping is a DVC Members Only perc, and is not available to renters.

Having said that, I'm sure, if on the off chance you got questioned at another resort, if you showed your Key To The World room Key, which will say DVC Member under your name, you would 'get away with it'

Theoretically only the Blue DVC Membership card should count as ID, but realistically, I don't think you will be carded.

Now, I'm not suggesting that you break the rules. I'm merely pointing out how it could be accomplished. The use/non-use/misuse of this information is up to you!

Pool hopping is available to DVC members staying at a DVC resort on points and their guests staying with them. If you are not staying with the member, technically, you are not entitled to pool hop.

That's correct, and it's not just renters, but also friends or relatives of the member.

If I let my sister stay using my points, and I didn't go myself, then technically she would not be eligible for any of the DVC perks, such as pool hopping.
