Renting points and dining - would you bother the renter/member with this?

I have two reservations where I rented points - one for two nights with deluxe dining and one for four nights with regular dining. I checked on the website months ago and both registered just like that - and I took a picture of the screen on my computer showing it. At the time the reservations were made, payment was not required for dining so I didn't pay for it yet, planning to pay when I arrived.

I just decided to look the two reservations up again to make sure everything was ok. Room is just fine - it just now says room only and no dining for both reservations.

Would you bother the renter/member with this to get it changed now or would you just wait until you arrived to deal with it then at the time of checkin? I really don't want to bother them if I don't have to, but I really want to have the dining options as my reservations were based upon me having them.

Since the system upgrade that took place on 10/13, the dining plan no longer shows as a package type on the on-line system. A number of posters have contacted MS and verified that the dining plan is still on the reservation. You would need to contact the member you rented from to have them verify that the dining plan is still on the reservations. The front desk is not be able to add or remove the dining plan at check-in.
 
well that stinks. I was really hoping not to have to bug them. thanks for the info!
 
Every post so far where someone did not see the dining plan on-line when it was there before and has called, has reported that the dining plan was in fact still on the reservation.
 

If it makes you feel any better, I am a DVC member with 2 upcoming reservations that have the DDP added, before the system upgrade. Both went from showing "dining" to "room only" after the upgrade. I did call MS and confirm that both ressies still had the DDP added. Also, I have a rented reservation for December that had the same thing happen. Since I am certain the DDP is still on the ressie, I'm not going to bother the owner to verify for me. HTH. :goodvibes
 
While I applaud you for not wanted to unnecessarily bug the owners, this seems like a perfectly reasonable request. Have them call, confirm, and put your mind at rest.
 
I occasionally rent and I would NOT be bothered by this request. I'd definately check if for nothing else for peace of mind!! ;)
 
thanks everyone! I emailed both renters; and as expected, both had no problem looking. Question - it was on originally before the rule change of paying at time dining put on. I can still wait to pay at checkin, correct?

Yes; any dining plan added BEFORE October 14th can be paid for at the time of checkin.
