hi,
we've rented points several times but i cant remember the answer to this:
if we're renting points, but don't need any tickets at all, can i still add the quick service dining plan?
thanks
karen

Yes. While you will, of course, need tickets if you enter the parks, the DDP for DVC is not a "package" that requires the purchase of park tickets. The DDP will need to be added to the reservation by the DVC owner, and payment for the plan will be required at that time. You used to be able to pay for the DDP at check-in, but that is no linger possible. The payment MUST be made when it is added to the reservation. You will need to work out your payment method with the owner from whom you've rented the resort reservation.

thanks for the quick answer, thats definately changed, we paid at check in last time we did the DDP.

As far as payment methods, some owners do a three way call with Member Services so the renter can use their Credit Card, but you'll need to trust the owner, as they will also be onthe line. Other people will send the owner Disney gift cards equal to the cost of the DDP. Or, the owner may agree to accept a check with time to allow it to clear the bank before they call Member Services. The requirement to pay the DDP when it is added was effective with a Disney reservation system program update in late 2010.
