Renting point

Hey everyone...I was thinking about renting DVC points for my upcoming trip. Someone mentioned to me to look here on the disboards. Not sure how it all works. Anyone willing to fill me in?

General questions about the renting process are allowed in this Forum, but questions should not contain enough details (resort, dates, etc.) such that the post could be construed as a request to rent. This is for your protection.

Be very wary of anyone who may INITIATE contact with you as a result of your post here (via email or PM /Start a Conversation). We have had some problem transactions that involved people who chose to by pass our R/T Board.

If you are thinking of renting points I would seriously consider going through a third party like Davids. They're who I use when I find myself short on points or rent for a relative, I would never rent directly from another owner. Using a third party also gives you a measure of protection, if an owner who you rented points from cancels/loses the reservation for whatever reason at least you will get your money back.
