Renting DVC points

So, I would need a 1 or 2 bedroom? A studio does not accommodate 5? I really don't care about a kitchen at all -- we are at the parks early to late and never would use it. Any idea roughly how much I would need to spend for 7 nights, in other words my least expensive DVC option?;) and, I don't mind bringing the mattress, towels etc.

Once again, sorry for the high jack, but I'm learning so much here. :goodvibes

For the least expensive options I'd run the points for Old Key West 1 bedroom, it's most likely the least amount of points for a 1 bedroom, and the units are large and beautiful...... and accommodate 5 without any air mattress.

A studio does not accommodate 5.

You'll end up loving the kitchen, even if you don't cook. Just the fridge, for juices milk, snacks, yogurts.... comes in very handy,

We are confirmed for a lake view at BLT for next June. I just got an email that the member put the trip on hold while we finalize all the paperwork so we would be guaranteed a room.

We used stayatWDW for the rental and I am very pleased with them. I have received constant updates to the status and they have answered all my questions in a very timely manner. I was receiving emails outside of normal business hours which was very impressive. I would recommend them to anybody looking to rent points.

Congratulations on getting BLT! You will have a great time, I'm sure. :thumbsup2

Like PP said, no studios will accommodate 5 people. You could rent a 1 bedroom at AKV, BLT or OKW and there would be places for 5 people to sleep. At the rest of the resorts (BWV, BCV, VWL, SSR) you'd need a 2-bedroom to have places for 5 people to sleep.

At BWV, BCV, VWL and SSR, Disney will allow 5 people to be booked in a 1 bedroom but you'd have to provide an air mattress and bedding/towels for the fifth person.

You really have to run the numbers to know what works best for you, when I stayed @ AKL Jambo - savannah view in a 1br. w/ a % off on the room from Disney, I calculated what it would have cost me to rent that unit and I 'spent' $11 approx. (from my memory) per point, which was cheaper than David's. Plus , of course, I got daily mousekeeping (which I think you pay something like $45 or 60 to get added to DVC if you want it,) added dinning to my package and paid it off @ leisure to Disney.
Other units/views/properties would probably yield more or less savings - certainly renting is a discount from paying Disney rack rate, but I have not paid rack rate for several years - so you really have to run the numbers, knowing about what discount you expect Disney to offer to see if it is the best deal for you. Balanced against the concern that you pay someone who then disappears w/ your money, which of course is not a concern w/ Disney.
I personally liked the space of the unit but the sofa hideabed gave me a back ache and I finally switched to the chair which was marginally better, the 1 brs aren't really set up for 4 or 5 people to sleep comfortably, IMO, because the master has a king for 2 people and everyone else is relegated to fold outs - it's one of the things that keeps me from taking the leap and buying.
