Renting DVC Points, Using On-Line Checkin?

Although we've stayed at the BoardWalk on rented points before, the only time we checked in on line was at Pop. Can I do this next March for our BW studio and what are the advantages? FWIW, we plan on arriving early, in time to make Epcot for the 9 am ropedrop so I don't expect to go to our room on arrival, I just want to have the bell take charge of our bags and get to the park ASAP.

Yes, as a renter you can use on-line check-in. Here's the link: MyDisneyReservation.com/DVC

On-line check-in is only designed to reduce the amount of time it takes to get the welcome packet when you first arrive at the resort. That welcome packet will contain your room keys, resort information, dining plan information (if using it). If you enter a CC# during on-line check-in, that card will be used for room charges and they will charge it for the dining plan (if using one) on your check-in date.
