Renting DVC Points Question

We are DVC members and would like to use our points for a Jan '05 cruise. After talking with MS today, I found out the points went up from '04 to '05 more then I had planned on.

Am I understanding it correctly, that if you are a DVC member and are using all of your available points for most of your reservation, you can have another member transfer some of their points to my account to finish the reservation?

Who calls member services first about the reservation?

Does the member that's transfering their points to me need to have the same use year that I have?

The person doing the transferring has nothing to do with the reservation. If I am transferring my points to you, say 100 is what you need to make the ressie, then I transfer the 100...what you do with them is of no concern to me, the transferrer.

The person doing the transfer does not need to have the same UY as you. Good luck, and remember that you can only either transfer in OR out, not both, within a year.

Have you considered renting your own points and just paying cash? I think most people on here are fans of doing that, since it's a much better deal that way.
