Hi,

I am interested in renting points for a DVC. I need to be able to sleep 6 people, and prefer a 2 br villa but that is not essential.

I was curious as to how far in advance I should try to book this? I've seen several posts where they require the deposit, then the balance is due within 90 days prior to arrival.

Also, can anyone give me some example pricing for this?
6 adult - 4 day non-hopper park passes, and NO dining plan.

Thanks so Much.
Rick

It depends on what resort you are looking at but if you are looking for a low point room (standard/vlaue) or a popular resort then you want to reserve at about 11 months out. Specific terms will depend on the point owner. Normally a deposit (about half the money) is due as soon as the room is reserved and then they may set up a schedule for additional payment or have a date when the rest is due. Generally the due date is dependent on when the owner needs to bank the point before or to keep things out of holding status- although if they are using the money for something like a cruise then the due date will depend on when the money is needed.

You will order you ticket separately- from Disney or a discount ticket broker.

Most rentals do not allow for moving dates or cancellations so your plans need to be fairly set in stone before renting.

You will need a 2 bedroom to sleep 6 unless 1 of the guests is under 3.

Terms are per the owner of the points. Many require payment in full once the reservation has been made. I have rented several times and love the savings over paying for a disney hotel. Plus we love the extra space of a 1 bedroom villa for our family of 3.

If you want the dining plan you need to pay in full when it is added to your reservation. It can be added up to 30 days prior to your arrival per Disney but you would need to pay the owner prior to their booking it so more time would make sense.
