Only if you find an owner who can book at the 11 month window (so someone that can book the first week of January 2017). So look around the Rent/Trade Board, eBay (I think I saw someone there when I was browsing through listings), or the other board that is specifically devoted to DVC owners.

For such a highly desired resort, expect to pay $15-20 per point (you get free laundry & free parking). And, depending on the owner, you may have to pay the majority (if not all) of it in advance, after the reservation is confirmed.

Google DVC Points Chart for 2017 and you will find that a studio at DVC in the first week of December will be considered the Choice Season and will run you 148 points (from Sunday through Saturday)

It should be easy to get if you post that you want that now. Owners won't be able to book until January, but you'll want to be as close to first in line as you can get. Many people go through the broker, David. That could save you some hassle by only having to talk to one person. His website has a calculator where you can figure out exactly how much it will cost before you put in a request. The downside to renting points this far out is that if you need to cancel for any reason, you are basically out of luck. Chances are, you'll be able to find someone to rent it from you, but the owner would have to be willing to make the changes for you. It's not like staying at a hotel where you can change your plans at any moment.

As the PP above states, finding an owner who can make a reservation at 11 month will be key. Having said that, we have been quite successful at renting at the 7 month during that time.
