renting DVC points and resort tax.

Is there resort tax if I rent points for BWV? Also if I decided to rent points when is the best time to get started? We will be going April of 2005. Thanks for any help.

There is no resort tax. The person you rent from can make your reservation 11 months before your trip. I would start trying to find someone in April so that all the details can be worked out by May.

As the OP said, no tax which is great!!

If you're looking for April 2005 at BWV I would say definitely post a request on the Rent/Trade board now. A DVC member (with BWV as home resort) can make reservations for you at the 11 month mark which would be in May sometime. BWV is a pretty popular place, and if you are counting on a certain view, it is definitely a good idea to get this started now.

If renter is in the "business" of renting DVC or resort property in general, he is required to charge, collect, or report sales tax. If renter is just an owner who occasionally rents out, there is no sales tax requirement.
