Renting DVC points and FDP?

Complete newbie question here:

We are renting DVC points (KIDANI) and will be at wdw for the FDP promotion......I would assume that the OWNER needs to arrange the FDP BUT

is it available to us at all?

How does it work with a fam of 5 (4 adults and 1 child)

If it is available, what is the correct procedure for utilizing promotion


I am completely lost. Could you tell?

It would not be available to you. Free dining is only available through 'cash' reservations from Disney directly. DVC members don't get free dining when they book on points...and since you're renting points...no free dining. (Look at the bright side--you're paying less for your hotel room than you would be if you did a 'cash' reservation.)

Reservations made with points are NOT eligible for free dining. You can have to owner add the dining plan to the reservation, though. Keep in mind it needs to be paid in full when it is added to the reservation.

You can add the dining plan up untill 3 days before you check in but it does have to be paid in full.

You can BUY the dining plan, but DVC guests staying on points( rented or owned) do not qualify for FREE Dining.In order to qualify you need to purchase a disney vacation pkg with resort stay at RACK RATE.No other discounts may be applied
