???? renting car

OK, I've only rented a car once in my life, and it was soooo many years ago, that I can't even remember. We always vacation, in Vegas, or WDW, and take cabs, etc. Any other vacations, we have driven too.

We usually take a towncar, in Orlando, and have always been against renting, but found a good rate with BUDGET, and grabbed it.

Anyway, I signed up for the fastperks thing, and am assuming this saves time in the airport right? Is there a separate line? Does my DH need to be with me, if he is going to be driving too, orcan he sit somewhere with the DDs


Approx how long will it take, to be on our way. We will be flying in at a Friday night, and landing at 7:45. NWA, if that makes a difference.


Sorry for so many questions. I've just never been the one doing the renting, and want to get my ducks in a row, and have some concept of what the heck I'm doing.

Check your auto policy and credit card. Most of us waive all the expensive add on waivers but make sure you have adequate coverage.

You don't want to pre-pay for your gas. You get no credit for any remaining fuel.

Check your car carefully for damage before you leave the parking garage.

With the quick rent card you should be able to leave the airport in under 30 minutes after you get your luggage.

If you're staying in a Disney resort the S exit route is the better way to go. Have some quarters for tolls. Some of the exit toll booths are exact change only.

The person who's name is on the contract is the one who has to go to the counter. So if you're the one, then DH doesn't need to be there.

Budget Fastbreak. You just go right to the kiosk in the garage, get your key, get your car and drive to WDW. So the family best go with you or you'll leave them behind.

Just to restate... Don't prepay for gas. Budget will charge you for FULL tank of gas. So if the car has a 16 gallon tank, they charge for 16 gallons.... when was the last time you got a car that low?
