renting/buying dvc points ?

Ok,

I read a reference to this somewhere, and I cant find it again Can someone explain to me what this actually is,how it works and what board I can find info on?

you can find it here on the dis. Just look for dvc/rent trade I believe it says. Ther eare people there trying to rent their points and you can even post to request how many points you need or want.

Here's a link to the DVC Rent/Trade Board . It's important to read the three sticky threads at the top of the board. You'll get a better idea of how everything works.

Renting points involves a certain degree of trust, both on your part and that of the DVC owner. You can get deluxe accommodations for the price of a moderate resort in exchange for that trust. It's not the cheapest way to stay in WDW but it's a way to stay in a nicer setting without going broke.

HI. We are renting points for the first time this December. It does require trusting the dvc owner but you can request a contract and you can call to verify the ressie in your name. I've never heard of anyone on these boards getting "burned" by renting from a fellow disser. There might be some, I've only been doing this for a year or so. I would read the sticky threads about renting, then go to the point calculator and put in a few dates and rooms and see how many points you need. The weekends are very expensive at a DVC resort. We are staying at the CR over the weekend and a 1bd room at BCV during the week.
