Renting/Buying a true Mickey costume?

After just getting back from Disney Saturday, our 20 month old son had the most fun at the two dance parties he went to: the one in tomorrowland during the halloween party and the playhouse disney one at DHS. He boogied all night and just had the biggest, happiest grin on his face. My DH came up with a great idea to do a Playhouse disney dance party for his 2nd birthday as a result. We wanted to rent/buy a mickey costume; however, the only ones I can find have no mask to them and are just he adult face. Does anyone know of a source where I can get a full mickey costume? thanks!

Get a job at Disney as the mouse. They are VERY proprietary on that costume so they don't have Mickey's running around behaving badly.
Sorry the best you might find is a Mickey Rat.

True. You may be able to find knockoffs (which won't look a whole lot like Mickey), and advertised as Mikee Mouse, or Mouse Man through party rental companies. I went to a cheap circus a few years ago and during intermission they had a costumes character come out to entertain the kids. It was a dude in a "spongebob-esque" costume and was announced as "Spongee Boy".

You cannot rent the costumes. As others have stated, Disney is highly protective of their characters. I worked entertainment for Disney, and now I work attractions for another theme park. I know the entertainment supervisors there. Let's just say the difference is day and night.

Disney is a very public company, and believe me, there are many unscrupulous people who will file bogus lawsuits to get a quick buck. Disney wants to make sure that anybody portraying their characters have been trained, screened, and approved by them. It's liability, not to mention control of the brand.

I bet your son would like it if his dad dressed up like Mickey, even if he knew it was his dad. At 2, I bet he would think that is pretty cool.
