Renting bikes at HHI

We are heading there for the first time next August and we're planning to rent bikes for the week. We have 2 little ones that will tag along with us in a tow behind or a child seat on the bikes - whichever they have available - and I am wondering....will they have bike helmets for us to rent?

As we tell the kiddos....."Safety First!!"

Last year was our first year at HHI, and I did not see anyone given helmets. Nor did I see many/any people wearing them while biking. Maybe it is not a law in the Carolinas??? Not sure. You might be safest bringing your own.

Ooh! Glad I asked. DH & I don't have helmets b/c we don't do any biking at home, but the kiddos do (you know, for biking in the driveway ) and we will definitely have to bring them with us! I don't think I'd want to go biking around HHI without helmets on my kids.

Our family, both children and adults have always been offered helmets at HH. I believe we've rented bikes on at least 3 trips. If I remember right, helmets and locks were included in the rental fee.
