renting a villa

I am a newbie on here so please be gentle with me if I am doing this wrong, we have just booked our first ever holiday to floriday next May and I want to rent out a villa in southern dunes area, is there anywhere on here that advertises villas? Thanks

Hi Welcome to the DIS - word of warning you will become hooked !

I have never seen any adverts for vacation villas only hotels. Checkout floridavillas or holiday-rentals and they should be able to locate villas in your chosen area. I am sure somebody will have stayed around Southern Dunes and will be able to point you in the right direction.

I have never stayed there, it's a bit too far south for me but there are a couple of good websites below that may help.

Also have a look at the classifieds in your local/national newspapers. We have picked up villas and apartments this way. A website address is also a bonus as you can get to have a look at the property.

Like Johnny, Southern Dunes is a bit too far south for us but there are many other sub-divisions nearer the "heart" of things.

Try bookafloridavilla.com - some very nice Southern Dunes owners advertising there - along with other areas too of course. For me it is a bit too far out, especially if you are planning on doing Universal as well as Disney but the homes look very nice.

It's all about getting the right balance between having a good villa and a good location.
Some of the developments for example down US27 such as Calabay Parc are really nice, but I just don't like where they are.
That's why we always choose one just off the 192, find everything is within easy reach.

Never stayed at Southern Dunes, but i have played golf there.
It is as others have said a fair way from Disney compared to some other communities, but (from the outside) the houses look clean & well presented & you will benefit from having a Wal Mart on your door step.
