You guys have been so helpful in my search for renting a home in Orlando. I have been researching different subdivisions and have found tons of information, but I can't seem to find any pictures of the communal pools. This is a biggie to us since we will be a group of mother/daughters and the girls will all want to get together and swim. Can you tell me which of the properties have nice, big communal pools and if you have any pictures of them or know where to find pictures, that would be great.

Thank you! :flower:

When you find a home you like do a sreach for the community name and maybe amongst the results there will be a website with the picture of the community pool on it its probably a case of doing a bit of reasearch .You don't say when you are going but just a heads up - the majority of communal pools are not heated .

"just a heads up - the majority of communal pools are not heated "

Wow, I have stayed in a lot of communities and have not yet come across one that was not heated, can you be more specific ?

M

We have stayed at Windsor Palms Resort and they have a gorgeous, big communal pool that is heated. Nice large hot tub too. You can see partial photos of it at www.windsor-palms-resort.com

The pictures don't do it justice though. I think Emerald Island Resort is supposed to be heated as well. Good luck with your search!

The commnuity ones such as the resort type ones I.E WP TV those with town house will need a heated pool but the majority of communiites that have homes each with their own heated pool and which may be a mixture of residential gernerally do not heat as they cannot justify the expense to their owners .This of course is not a written law but a generalisation .

I live in a community near WDW that has a pool. It's not heated. The hot tub is of course. (Not that I've been in either yet in the 18 months I've been paying HOA dues. :guilty: Many homeowners also have their own pools which are heated dependent on season and personal preference.

(No rentals in my community, but I don't think that really makes a difference.)

Thanks but can you be specific ? Maybe name the resorts ? As I said I have stayed in many of the communities and have not yet found a pool that is not heated. It is good info to share.

Hey Martina I can!

Lake Davenport Estates
Chatham Park
Hampton lakes

These are devlopments of pool homes only .Anywhere with town homes or that classes it self a "resort " will have a heated pool and some such as Grand Palms are heated for only part of the year .

Thanks Jan,

But I have stayed at Lake Davenport and Chatham and both had heated community pools. I have never stayed at Hampton lakes but cannot believe they would not heat the pool even if it were just through winter.

M

Lake Davenport Estates it is not heated as this is where my home is and my hoa bills show me what we pay for.Chatham park is where I have a very good friend who knows it is not .Are you sure you didn't stay on Davenport Lakes as it is a different community .
I must say Martina that it appears thet everytime I post somethings you have to come back -Have I done something to upset you?If so- I apologise even if I don't know what it is .

No Jan you have not upset me, I just do not like throw away remarks like "but just a heads up - the majority of communal pools are not heated "
I think that the problem here is the word majority, maybe you could have changed it with the word "some"

I also have a problem with you promoting your house on here all the time, even though surreptisiously, I prefer my info on these boards to come from someone with nothing to gain, an unbiased opinion.

I do know I stayed at both The Palms at Lake Davenport and Chatham Park both in Winter and both pools were heated.

Also with a simple search I found this http://www.perfectplaces.com/vacation-rentals/1271.htm Which suggests that Hampton Lakes also has a heated pool :-))

M

well we will have to disagree as my hoa bills tell me the pool is not heated .

Florida Pines has MANY vacation villas. The community pool is not heated.
