Question for the experts here on the Dis: We are staying 6 nights at Pop this summer and want to rent a car for a couple of days. Has anyone else done this? If so, any information is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

We do this just about every trip. We rent from Alamo at the Car Care Center on property. They make it so easy too. We call the day prior to be picked up at our hotel, then they take us to the rental center. When we return the car they will take you to any resort. Which is free. The cars have always been nice, and the customer service has been great. I do go on the Alamo site a lot to get the best deal. Hope this helps =)

Yes, it is very easy. You can use the on property rental offices or it is also very easy from MCO if you are flying in. It is nice to be able to skip the busses and drive straight to and from the parks since theme park parking is free if you are staying on site. You just need to remember that the resort parking is now a nightly fee.

We did this during our stay last summer. I had originally booked (1 day rental) at the Car Care Center, but then saw that the Swan/Dolphin Alamo was the same price. It actually worked out better, because we just went from our morning at Hollywood Studios to the Dolphin and picked up the car. We were offered a choice of 3 cars (2 full size, which we booked - Impala and Optima, as well as something "fun" - which was a softsided Jeep Wrangler) Opted for the Impala since we needed space for our luggage! We didn't need to worry about booking/waiting for a shuttle from the Car Care Center. I figure it probably saved us a lot of time (which is valuable on a vacation!) When returning, my husband dropped the car off (does not need to be during business hours) and took the bus back to one of the parks, then grabbed the bus to our resort (which was POP) Super easy!

Yes, I've used the Alamo at the Car Care Center, too. Pickup and drop-off at my resort were very prompt, and I was in the car and on my way in a matter of minutes after arriving at the Alamo office.
