I have a renter that wants to add the dining plan. The problem is they have one guest they are not sure will make it. If the person cannot make the trip, can they get a refund for that person's dining plan? Or should they wait to add the dining plan once they know the person is going? Or can they leave the person off, buy the dining plan for everyone else in the room, and add the 5th person /buy their dining plan when they know for sure they are coming?

You have to pay for everyone on the reservation and I’m not sure if refunds can be issued. I would suggest option 2 that way if they don’t come you can get it all done with one call to member services

My understanding is you can add it up to 2 or 3 days out from checkin,,,I would let them know to make sure you can add 7 days out. They should know by then if the extra person is coming or not.

If they definitely want dinging plan, I would add the confirmed guests and have that paid so it's done.

If another guests joins - add them to the reservation and pay the incremental amount for the dining plan.

Can confirm you must add dining plan three days before stay. I would confirm renters hold off on the undecided traveller until just before.

My feelings are that the renter really needs to be made to understand that every change involves your time. Some changes are easy like adding or removing a guest. Others, like this would involve more of your time.

If I had a renter who was asking for this kind of accommodation I would tell them that they had a deadline to confirm their guests. I would not add the dining plan until that deadline passed. The deadline would be more like 10 days before check in because making changes would occur when I have time to do it in an undistracted manner not when the renter decides to commit.

And because the IRS is intent on taxing money that comes in thru PayPal or Venmo, etc. I would insist that the renter supply me with Disney gift card codes in an amount that will cover their dining plan. I don't want to pay taxes on money that was not really income.
