Rented DVC points; how do I set up MDE/magic bands?

I rented DVC points from an owner for our trip in October 2014. I have a copy of the reservation, which has the reservation # and "ATTN: DVC Member's Name" at the top, but I am the first person listed on the reservation, along with DH and DD. I do not yet have park tickets; I am ordering these from Undercover Tourist over the next several months, as the budget permits. I KNOW that I will be able to access FP+ at 60 days prior to my check-in date, so want to make sure I have all tickets before then, and everything ready to go. SO… Here's my question: How do I start setting up My Disney Experience, getting Magic Bands, etc.?

How do I proceed?? Will things be more difficult as I have rented points rather than rented directly through Disney? Does having email with my name listed on it as the first guest mean that the reservation is in my name, or should I expect more "paperwork" from the DVC member? I don't have a smart phone (just a tracfone) or iPad… will this hinder being able to "do" things online? As you can see, I really don't have a clue about this.
 
No, it shouldn't be any more difficult. Just link the room reservation on your MDE and it should show up. If your name is listed first, then the reservation is considered to be in your name. You will need to make sure that the other people listed show up when the reservation links. Once you have bought your tickets, you can either enter the numbers (beware of the difference between '0' and 'O') or scan the barcode (if using the app) to link the tickets.

As far as not having an iPad or smartphone, I do most of my MDE stuff on my laptop. I appreciate while in the parks I will need to use my phone if I want to switch anything around but, certainly, up until we leave, I use the laptop/desktop for booking/changing anything.

ETA: You can link your resort reservation now and customise your MagicBands. Once you have bought your tickets, add them and you will be good to go.
 
Its super easy, just link the reservation number just as you would any regular hotel reservation. Your family should show up with you.

Have the DVC member give you the confirmation number, and you can link your reservation to MDX as you normally would.

It will mean that if you want to change FP+ "on the fly" in the park, you will need to go to a kiosk instead of using your own phone or tablet to do so.
 
We had BoardWalk last Oct on points we rented 11 months previous, before any of the MB/MDE crap. We got invited to be guinea pigs just a few weeks before we were to go and as others have said, it's easy. Get your confirmation number and ticket numbers if you have them already and punch them in.
