rental prices DVC resorts

Okay - this is probably old news to everyone else - but when did October become on season and July value season?

My brother is going in July and I was trying to find something reasonable priced - (he is staying in OKW using my points but only for 6 nights and they need one more night) -

but when I priced October (my mother's birthday) it was alot higher?

Disney's rate "seasons" are quite different from our DVC seasons.

July4 -Oct 2 is "Value" season for cash reservations.

For CRO reservations, I believe October was changed from value to regular in 2000. It used to be value ran from July 4 to right before Christmas at the deluxe hotels. Then alot of people starting going in October so they changed it to regular. We went in October in 1998 & 1999 and it was pretty crowded.

I always wondered... why don't the DVC seasons correlate to the CRO seasons?

I'm thinking they know what vacation habits DVCers use vs. resort guests. I've been thinking about this as I see more and more DVCers who live in the cold North post that when they retire they'll be spending more time at DVC in January and February and I fear that the low points I enjoy in January may rise at some later date.

October is Food and Wine as well as Mickey's not so Scarey.

Big incentive for people to go.
